Here are some of the photos I took during the 26th Annual W.C. Handy Blues Awards that was held May 5th, 2005.
WEVL Station Manager Judy Dorsey and fellow blues programmer Dee 'Captain Pete' Henderson, his friend Jesse Mae Ayers and I were delighted to go.
Captain Pete was acknowleged for his ongoing contributions to blues radio, and I got to see many of my long-time music idols.
Highlights included Honeyboy Edwards, Big Joe Duskin, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Jesse Mae Hemphill and lifetime achievement award winner Pinetop Perkins.
It was a special night for me. Enjoy the photos!
